How to interconnect with the TELUS/BCE controlled 9-1-1 selective routers across Canada is the subject of two contributions currently before the CRTC CISC Emergency Services Working Group. The issue really boils down to the locations where the interconnection can take place and the actual nature of the interconnection (that is using heavily centralized packet switched interconnection using SIP+RTP/UDP/IPv4/Ethernet or using really really old T1 telephone lines across great distances) If interconnecting with the 9-1-1 network was free everybody would provide 9-1-1 service. -=Francois=-
