I've been enjoying reading your work, but I think you missed a few points with this one. I especially disagree with this statement:

If you are really concerned about privacy, then don't use Gmail and don't send e-mail messages to people with Gmail accounts. It's that simple.

If you really believe that, then you should probably extend that to say that you "shouldn't send unencrypted email". In all the systems that email passes through, it passes through in plain-text. Anyone on those systems can look at your email at any time.

Don't worry, today all the email is transferred just by mail servers and various anti-spam filters -- just "machines" after all. I'm sure no one would actually look…
