Only smartphones that can sync to your computer can actually do this, or a carrier which uses SIM cards (which is Rogers/Fido on both counts). After various misadventures with devices that don't sync, I'm only ever going to use a phone that synchronizes with my main contact database on my computer. It would be a great "mass market" service for lower-end phones, but phone hardware doesn't look like it's getting cheaper in Canada any time soon (esp. if you get it without a contract).
