I don't agree that what they're offering is a gimmick to grab headlines. It's like pay as you go mobile phones. Why would I want to pay five bucks for an iTunes film to find out five mins in that it's rubbish? By then I've paid and that's it. Seems that they offer a way for the studios to make some money which means that they'll probably get decent content.
Everyone is going on about Joost but the content is rubbish, they've got Viacom sure but what are Viacom going to give away free? Their best content which you'd want to see? I think not.
There are a lot of video services out there but they're generally low end and are generally starved of quality content. I also don't want to watch video in a postage stamp sized window...
