Re: Pre-Rolls Are Not Dead

Amen.
Pre-rolls will work if they're a brief 2-4 second "This video brought to you by... (LOGO) type deal with a follow-on post-roll that can be a little longer.
The best option is take YouTube's follow on related links that appear on the end of the video - if they shrink the size of those and run a more audio-based ads (speakers will be turned up for the video just watched) they can pitch the product while the person is trying to decide what to watch next. There's been studies that show that people actually retain better when slightly distracted so it's a pretty golden opportunity.
