Re: Does the Internet Suck? Evans vs. Maich
by Anonymous
The Wild West. Guns slinging, crime rampant, the Gold Rush. Fires in Cities. Snake Oil. Heal all Tonics. Different laws in different towns. They build railroads. They standardized. They brought establishment and commerce. It took time, but in time it settled. The Internet is the next great frontier, lets keep this in mind. Yes there is evil. Yes there is lots of crime, and we don't have a Wyatt Earp... yet. Just as the west building railroads -and this almost bankrupting a many- trillions have been spent on the infra and infostructure of the internet. The people are coming and the people are here, we just don't know what to do with it yet. This will take time. But it will be settled. However, for the time being, yes it will suck for some, others will make fortunes from nothing, others will lose it all. The short of the long is that we need time to figure this out. It's only been 15 years.
