There's no chance IE7 will make a backlash against Firefox. Firefox 2 is out and many more are talking about that. It looks cleaner than the greasy IE7 and features improved document handling. IE is still struggling with reading the DOCTYPEs to correctly display HTML, and has a bunch of CSS bugs. I would guess that IE7 is also a gimmick to sell the even worse Windows Vista.
