Re: Re: Stemming the Tide of Declining Newspaper Circulation

Allow a community of independent bloggers create content, and then let The New Times browse and select the best of that content for a hard publishing. The business model would be based upon the following components 1) Due to the "credible" reputation of The Times, they would command compensation from bloggers desiring to publish their stories in the publication; and, they would provide compensation to allow the display of their blog links for futher reading 2) The Times would purportedly attract readership because they are operating on a model similar to an "editorial search engine" selecting highly relevant, quality and intelligent blogger posts. The result would be a mutually beneficial business model which better represents the goals of each party: in the case of the bloggers, it provides an outlet in compentency and links to their blogs and attracting readership and it also attracts readers to a publcation which is known for quality reporting, yet does so from the online sources where readership is growing. Just my two bits.
