Re: Lovin' Pandora

They were initially the Oakland Seals and changed to California Golden Seals when they tried to appeal to an entire Bay Area audience under "new" ownership. Charlie Finley introduced colorful sports attire when he ran the Oakland "A's" and carried this tradition over when he bought control of the Seals and renamed them as mentioned above. Yellow and then white skates, along with more colorful uniforms green and gold (think "A's"), were supposed to bring customers. They eventually moved to Cleveland as the Barons and a year or two later were absorbed into the Minnesota North Stars system in a deal that gave one of the involved parties NHL rights to the Bay Area market. The Minnesota North Stars moved to Dallas and those owership rights became the San Jose Sharks. A complicated history to say the least.
