I agree that there is a substantial effort to make this an either/or type of issue, particularly when it comes to involvement.
Perhaps this is simply the nature of politics. Either you support my point of view, or you support (insert worst possible scenario here). That is the problem I have with so-called "net neutrality" legislation. The potential to demaggogue any issue surrounding the Internet makes me fearful of what further governmental intervention down the road. Absent any real smoking gun in this case, I would advocate a free market approach.
