Hi Mark - there are a lot of good methods for improving the conference format and changing it into conversations. You could do some sessions using Open Space Technology (which is not really technology, it's just a good way to get people talking). You could also use the roundtable method, which starts with a panel, but in the centre of the room, and keeps moving the conversation out into the group. If you want help, send me a note.
