I talked to a few of the top spammers in the US a few weeks ago. The ones i talked to were doing over a million a month on email spam. The ROI was between 10 and 80 cents an email. I really can't see this doing anything other then HELPING spammers. Are you going to start paying to send people new comment notifications? Can any forum on the internet now afford to do that? What about friendster email notifications? Event notifications? What happens to email lists? I wonder just how many sites will be killed off as a result of this.
