Re: Broadband Bandits

I don't get all the rants about tollgates?? I'm a BCE shareholder, and I don't own stock in any peer-to-peer application developer, eBay / Skype, Apple (iTunes), etc.
Bell, Telus, Shaw, etc are providing the fat pipe into the home which costs big $$$... fibre, routers, switches, etc. while their traditional telephony revenue is being eroded. "Net neutrality" to me sounds like a bunch of Greenpeace activists trying to save the whales... someone has to make a buck at the end of the day to continue to make the future capital investments.
If it means the green haired neighbour kid has to pay a couple more bucks for the thousands of songs he downloaded last week to maintain my performance quality, go for it. If it means that I pay an additional $2/month so they can plough fibre to the end of my street, I'll skip a latte one day this month. If it means my BCE shares actually appreciate in value....
My 2 cents....
