Thanks for the feedback. Speaking for Blogbeat, the plus side to a paid service is you get a return on your investment. You're not just a number a company uses to get acquired. You're a customer.
This also equates to a much better product that grows with new features and technology.
For example, we've just added FeedBurner support. So now you can track your RSS stats with your blog stats -- all in one place.
We'll also be introducing an API interface for dropping "stat widgets" on your blog. So with one line of javascript, you can have a real-time list of your top posts or referring websites on your blog.
There will always be a free/cheaper way to track page views. But for those who want to do something great with their blog... that's where Blogbeat comes in.
