HAHAHAHAHA
You hit that nail right on the head.
Being "before Callnet became Rogers", let me tell you about the commute. I was "urged to apply" for a new position, told that I was probably going to remain at the 333 Bloor location for at least another year, then three days after signing the paperwork was given my 8 weeks notice about my move to Brampton. I now drive straight through the downtown core every morning to get to the Brampton campus, the last 15 minutes of my drive being spent fighting with transposrt trucks since INDUSTRIAL PLANTS ARE THE ONLY THING AROUND THE CAMPUS where I get to fight for parking near the only entrance that they have opened, since the other three are of course, under construction, as is 50% of the call center.
Everything is bright and geometrically designed and oddly coloured. You will not find a white wall anywhere within the million square miles. Our "serenity loft" is gone, it's made way for offices for upper management so that they don't have to be down on the floor with the rest of us peons. Your first month of working here will find you refering to your handy "road map" if you want to find anything around here.
Oh yeah. It's great.
Did I mention the rules that they have instilled? Eating only within designated areas because the reps on the phones might see you eating somewhere other than the kitchen area and cause a civil uprising, no visable alternative coffee cups on your desk (you can only use your official Brampton Campus coffee travel mug, but you save 3 cents if you get the Timmy lady to pour straight into your mug), and the best perk of being your own "mini city": your own mini crime center. Anything resembling something important had better be nailed down, otherwise it's going to take a walk.
2 out of 4 of us were lucky enough to find new jobs that would keep them at 333. The other one moved to Mississauga, and me...well...I'm just glad I drive a standard is all I can say.
