Re: Katrina's Ongoing Tragedy
by billonlogan
what i've seen on the news are search and rescue teams on boats and helicopters working 24 hrs around the clock plucking people off roofs and water. i've seen monster helicopters dropping sand bags to fill the breach on the canal. i've seen police and city officials (who undoubtledly lost everything) still doing their jobs in difficult times. what i've seen is media helicopters dropping off and picking up cameramen and reporters and not bothering to evacuate anyone else. I saw one reporter tell a stranded couple "we'll call somebody to get you out" and they left. No wonder it's a mess down there.
