Great article, but generating money off of blogs is more than just ad-clicks. Blogs can also be viewed a marketing tool. If you blog, and you get consulting/speaking projects because folks read and liked your blog, then your blog is generating revenue. If it generates exposure for you, your company, and your services, then it is generating revenue.
