Not to pound on the Rocketboom soap again but Amanda Congdon's newest video blog is not funny and kind of sad. It makes you accept the reality Andrew Baron is Rocketboom's creative muse while Congdon was just the talent who was embraced by love-lorn bloggers.

Actually, I thought it was not bad -- and I wasn't even that big a fan of Amanda's. Maybe it was the Ze Frank credit that got me.

Mark, couldn't agree with you more. Should have stuck with what worked. Now, we can call her Suzanne Somers 2.0

... Ugh, some people just want to sit around and watch people fail... that's horrible. I think it was funny and it was meant to be lame -- the whole obsession with the Boomgate is lame.

Mark,
Did you really not like it? How lame of you. It was incredibly funny. Actually, if you've been watching RB, it is kinda clear what's up. It's in general been pretty bad, with 2 out of 10 good days. Guess you just don't get it. Some people are like that. Re: Re: You're Not Funny, Amanda
maybe it's a matter of personal taste but i found it dragged and the woe-is-me theme came across as just more he said/she said stuff. in particular, i found the 49% of tips joke not funny but immature.

It is amazing how the 'Amanda' soap opera has managed to galvanize such polar opposite and passionate opinions. Perhaps this is the essence of good blogging.
I must say, I am with you on this one. The new Rocketboom is so much more interesting with Joanne Colan at the desk. She brings a more intelligent humour, and along with Andrew, they manage a fresh and innovative approach to almost every show. Amanda is, well, just plain narcissistic. Perhaps I have been biased by her split with Andrew. He was dignified and professional in his comments about the split - she wasn't. I am sure we all wish her the best, but I have a feeling that she has already experienced her '15 minutes' (and more) of fame. Re: Re: You're Not Funny, Amanda

Again, with the negative comments -- can't it just "be"? Must it be torn apart this many times? It happened, it's done, and I can see both points of view. We have to pick who we like now? Mommy and daddy have split up and we can only live with one?
Andrew didn't say hardly anything (even though he had that 30 minute rant) -- call it professionalism or call it cowardess. If I hosted a wildly popular vlog, I would never let my fans just sit and wonder what happened to me and I certainly wouldn't allow somebody to say I was on vacation when I wasn't on vacation at all. I don't think anyone in their right mind would move from a production role to a "face" role. I know a bunch of blogging geeks may be suffering from heartbreak through Andrew -- it's really pathetic. Yeah, the cute anchorwoman must have just ruined everything... She's so vain, and pretty... she obviously had no talent! Wrong! She definitely does... she was the darling of vlogging until this happened... and now she's suddenly garbage because she put her foot down? So, how many times have all these men who have beaten up on Amanda been rejected for a date by a pretty girl? Please, think clearly before posting anymore trash about this topic. When I read these comments, it just seems like misplaced anger from prom night rather than logical arguments on your feelings about the RB split. - a guy. Re: Re: Re: You're Not Funny, Amanda
Actually, "a guy", I was pretty popular with the ladies in my day so there is no misplaced anger when I post that she isn't very funny. I'm also pretty sure that goes for everyone else here who doesn't think she's very funny. It's called opinion and to categorize it as misplaced anger because you assume her critics on this blog were rejected by pretty girls in the past is "misplaced" and "illogical" itself, to say the least.
